Computer System Architecture and Organization has a good mix of hardware- and software- oriented topics. A comprehensive and up-to-date view of the architecture and internal organization of computers has been presented in the book. The Instruction Set Architecture (ISA) is also covered to explain specific design aspects. Moreover, arithmetic and logical operations and algorithms for performing arithmetic are explained. Another distinct feature is that performance issues are also dealt with, which will help practicing design engineers and postgraduate students.
· Introduction and Trends on Computer Architecture · Operational Units of a Computer · Data Representations and Arithmetic Algorithms · Central Processing Unit · Memory Organization · I/O Organization · Instruction-Level Parallelism · Multiprocessor Systems · Performance Measures For Computer Architecture · Case Studies · Appendix: Digital Logic Circuits · Index
