Satellite networking is an exciting and expanding field which has developed significantly since the first telecommunications satellite, from telephone and broadcast to broadband ATM and Internet. Many of the technological advances in the networking area are centered in satellite networking. With increasing bandwidth and mobility demands on the horizon, satellites are the logical option as satellite networks can provide a greater bandwidth and therefore show the greatest promise for the future.
